Seabed data analysis optimises rock-dumping requirements

Challenge:

The Client required analysis of DTM data along an intended power cable route in order to design seabed intervention by rock dumping in advance of the cable installation and also post-cable installation.

Solution:

S³ used a combination of 3D modelling software and ESRI's ARCView GIS software to visualise the DTMS from several survey campaigns as conducted by the Client.  This process facilitated decisions by the Client that eventually lead to a significant reduction in the amount of rock dumping required.
