Operational flexibility yields significant follow-on contract

Challenge:

Two of S³'s work class ROVs (both Triton XLS vehicles) were deployed on a light construction ROV vessel to support subsea production tree installation operations.  The vessel was working in close liason with a semi-submersible drilling rig in deep water.  When the rig ROV got into difficulty, the S³ ROV teams were asked to support the rig operations.

Solution:

The ROV tooling systems on the drilling rig were passed down to the support vessel for review and application on the S³ ROVs.  After review of the requirements and the equipment available, the S³ personnel were able to install the systems and operate them in conjunction with the rig drilling team.

This solution saved the end-Client significant costs and lead to a significant follow on contract direct with the end-Client/Operator.
